We have a strong, multi-cultural student support team, which currently includes staff from NZ, Australia, Japan, Vietnam, India, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore. Our team assists you in your arrival in Palmerston North, helps you to settle in to life at IPU New Zealand, and continues supporting you throughout your studies. The team ensure your student life is enjoyable and fulfilling.

We support you from the day of you arrive to the day you graduate. We try our best to make your time studying at IPU New Zealand fulfilling and worthwhile. IPU New Zealand's smaller size make it possible for us to give individual support to each of student.
To settle into and get familiarised with IPU New Zealand, you are invited to participate in Orientation prior to the term starts. You'll get to know IPU New Zealand staff members and to meet new and international friends. You are also introduced to Palmerston North city, where you'll spend your 1-3 years of study.

At IPU New Zealand your lecturers strive to offer you the support you need to succeed in your studies. Lecturers know their students by name and our ‘Open Door' policy makes it easy for you to visit lecturers whenever you need extra assistance. IPU New Zealand's faculty staff and senior students offer a variety of academic support services such as academic writing support and access to language learning buddies, particularly for those students learning Japanese and/or Mandarin.
At IPU New Zealand we are committed to providing students with a quality career development program that connects the relevance of study to work and prepares students for today’s world of work. Our services include, career planning and finding employment support.
Our Careers Centre is located in A5 in A Block. Drop-in sessions are available or you can email email@example.com to make an appointment or with any queries you may have.
Residential Support staff and Hall Leaders, selected from senior students, are available to provide support in your on-campus living. We are here to ensure your IPU New Zealand life is safe and comfortable.
Staff at the student counter in the Administration Centre help you with receiving mail, organising insurance, and purchasing subsidised wi-fi internet, while Academic Registry staff provide assistance in obtaining academic transcripts and other official documents.
IPU New Zealand has a contracted doctor and nurse available at IPU New Zealand during the week to deal with students' health concerns and medical needs.
IPU New Zealand is located in a quiet and safe suburb in the residential area of Aokautere, Palmerston North. Security personnel are available 24/7 to ensure student and staff safety.
PASTORAL CARE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
EDUCATION (Pastoral Care for International Students) CODE OF PRACTICE 2016
At IPU New Zealand, we take the pastoral care of students seriously and make provisions to ensure the comfort, safety and well being of all students. As we enrol international students, IPU New Zealand is required to be a signatory of the Education (Pastoral Care for International Students) Code of Practice 2016. It is mandatory for all education providers in New Zealand that enrol international students. NZQA is the administrator of the code.
The code provides a framework for service delivery by educational providers and their agents to international students. The Code sets out the minimum standards of advice and care that are expected of educational providers with respect to international students. The Code applies to pastoral care and provision of information only, and not to academic standards.
Through our dedicated student services team, we are continually evaluating our systems and procedures to ensure we are delivering the best service possible to our students. This includes talking and listening to students and staff ensuring we have information that is relevant to them and to IPU New Zealand.
