Your IPU New Zealand ID card is your Library card.
Printing and photocopying costs 10 cents per A4 page. You can add money to your account at Reception in the Admin building. Scanning is free.
How long can I have books and DVDs out for?
Books: Four weeks
DVDs: Two weeks
Magazines/Journals: One week
Why can’t I access the databases or ebooks?
Check if you are signed up for an OpenAthens account. You will need to be a current staff member or student to obtain this.
How do I book a Library meeting room?
Contact the firstname.lastname@example.org with the room you wish to book, time and duration required. Bookings are displayed on a small whiteboard outside Lib1. Rooms are booked on a first come, first served basis. Rooms may be booked by staff for a semester at a time.
How do I find books?
Search on the Library catalogue
What if the book or DVD I want isn’t on the shelf?
If the item you want is on loan to someone else, ask a librarian to put a reserve on it. We will let you know when it’s returned. If we don't stock the book you need, we may be able to obtain it from another Library.
How do I return my books?
Put them in the slot marked “Returns” at the desk.
Where do I get the textbooks for my papers?
Textbooks assigned for a paper are held behind the Library desk. To obtain them, please ask at the desk. Please have the name of the textbook, the name of the paper, and the name of your lecturer ready. If you textbook is a ebook then an access code will be emailed to you from the Library.
Please note: Japanese Language textbooks are Library books which are issued to you for the semester and need to be returned at the end of it.
Printing, copying and laminating
Printing and photocopying costs 10 cents per A4 page. You can add money to your account at Reception in the Admin building. Scanning is free. If you need help with copying or scanning, please ask.
Please note that generally we are unable to provide colour printing or photocopying. Please ask at Reception in the Admin building if you need to print in colour.
- How do I print from a laptop?
From your online PaperCut account. Select "Web Print" and follow the steps on screen.
- How much do laminating pouches cost?
Thirty cents each for A4 pouches and 60 cents each for the A3 size. These can be bought at the Library desk (please bring coins).
- Quiet areas are for quiet. If you need to talk, stay in the group study areas.
- Food and drink are allowed (but no smelly foods please).
- Please go outside to make phone calls.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
- IPU New Zealand policies and procedures must be observed at all times.
