The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is a standardised criterion-referenced test to evaluate and certify Japanese language proficiency for non-native speakers, covering language knowledge, reading ability, and listening ability, conducted worldwide.
IPU has been selected as a test centre for JLPT for 2026 onwards, along with other two test centres in New Zealand, namely University of Auckland and University of Canterbury. There are two JLPT days in 2026 - one in July and the other in December.
Applications for the July JLPT (test date: 5 July 2026) at IPU are now open (3 March 2026 - 31 March 2026).
