The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is a standardised, criterion-referenced test designed to evaluate and certify Japanese language proficiency for non-native speakers. Held worldwide, it covers language knowledge, reading ability, and listening ability.
IPU has been selected as an official test centre for the JLPT from 2026 onwards, alongside two other centres in New Zealand: University of Auckland and Ara Institute of Canterbury.
Applications for the December JLPT (Test Date: 6 December 2026) at IPU are now open from 3 August 2026 to 31 August 2026.
