Katsuya Idemaru is one of IPU New Zealand's most longstanding team members, having joined the institution shortly after graduating from Massey University, where he studied Computer Science and Mathematics. His connection to IPU runs even deeper — he first arrived in New Zealand from Japan in 1990 as one of the pioneer students at IPU, graduating with a Diploma of International Business Studies before pursuing further studies at Massey. 

In his current role as Accommodation and IT Manager, Katsuya oversees the daily operation of student halls, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and student satisfaction, and coordinates homestay arrangements for both resident and visiting students.

Alongside his accommodation responsibilities, Katsuya also oversees IPU New Zealand's technology infrastructure, ensuring all systems are functional and supporting the technology needs of staff and students across the institution. His decades of experience, combined with his own journey as an international student at IPU, give him a unique and empathetic understanding of student life — making him a trusted and familiar face within the IPU New Zealand community.
