Cecilia Bartaloni joined IPU New Zealand in 2024, originally from Italy, relocated to New Zealand in 2023. Cecilia’s responsibilities at IPU New Zealand include academic programme revisions, planning governance meetings, and minutes taking. She brings six years of experience in tertiary education, spanning library services, tourism marketing research, and academic governance.


Cecilia's research expertise lies in the impact of new technologies on customer experience in the hospitality industry, with a particular focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) as an antecedent of emotions and memorable hospitality experiences. Her doctoral research was conducted at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, including a visiting scholarship at Florida State University. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, including Tourism and Hospitality Management and the International Journal of Hospitality Management, and has presented her research at international conferences including AIB 2022 in Florida and CAUTHE 2022.
