Helping Our Students (and Others) Spread Their Wings

As part of IPU New Zealand’s Internship Programme, we work with a number of local businesses and organisations to provide our students with not only the experience they will need in the commercial world, but also so they can gain an appreciation and understanding of Aotearoa.

A perfect example of this is when our final-year degree student, Ayano Tanaka, started her internship with Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery here in Palmerston North.

One of her first tasks was to help release a kāhu (Australasian Harrier) called Pahiatua, which had spent eight weeks at the Centre after treatment for a fractured radius and ulna in the right wing, and a parasite burden.

Kia kaha.
