Visit to Riverdale School by IPU Japan Students
Kia ora and konnichiwa.
Our visiting IPU Japan students spent a wonderful morning at Riverdale Primary School, here in Palmerston North recently, taking the opportunity to wear traditional Japanese dress, they shared their language and culture with the tamariki and staff.
It was a perfect introduction to the Aotearoa primary (school) education system, and we couldn’t have hoped for more welcoming hosts.
We were honoured to receive a Mihi whakatau (formal welcome), and He Whakawhetai performed by Ngā Tewhatewha was something our students and staff found very moving, and was much appreciated.
Ngā mihi nui.
