Visit to Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre

When IPU New Zealand received an invitation from the Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre, near Masterton, to see the work they are carrying out on their new Te Wānanga Taiao (environmental education facility), it was the perfect opportunity to take some of our students along to show them the efforts Pūkaha are taking to safeguard the future of Aotearoa’s endangered species.

Not only was it an interesting and worthwhile visit, it provided an opportunity to see first-hand the sterling work being carried out by Pūkaha, and during the day, many connections were made, which both parties will endeavour to develop.

Thanks are due to everyone at Pūkaha for making us feel so welcome, and rest assured, we will be back.

Seen during the visit are Emily Court (Pūkaha General Manager), Ivy Dilig, Nash Prado, Kelly Body (Pou Mātauranga/Education Director), Sarah Watkins (Marketing Manager), and in front, Ayano Tanaka.
