Seminar Report of Professor Rouben Azizian and Carl Bradley, Massey University
On 3 rd February 2017, Professor Rouben Azizian and Carl Bradley from Massey University came
to IPU for the seminar organised by Dr Tadashi Iwami, International Relations Lecturer at IPU
and Co-Chair of the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs Palmerston North Branch.
Professor Azizian introduced a broad concept of security from the international, national and
community perspectives. Dr Bradley then provided us with a few examples of community
security issues in New Zealand. Both experts lectured us how important and beneficial it was to
for us to broaden our idea of security (not only about military security but also human security).
