Toastmasters Club Celebrates First Anniversary
IPC Toastmasters Club celebrates its first birthday this month.
Its 16 current members- staff and students from both IPU New Zealand and Massey University, as well as community members, meet weekly in the Senior Common Room at IPU New Zealand.
Club president Priyanka Sharma says the club's aim is to help members increase their confidence in the art of communication, while learning valuable leadership skills. "The man who founded Toastmasters was fond of saying that 'we learn best in moments of enjoyment', and we are very serious about our enjoyment!"
IPC Toastmasters' Executive Committee and club members encourage visitors to come along and experience their friendly and supportive atmosphere. The club includes members from many nationalities, therefore providing wonderful exposure to various cultures and backgrounds. Priyanka speaks on behalf of all members in describing what the club means to them: "We have all found Toastmasters to be an even bigger life experience than we imagined."
